Description
Alice and I had just moved to Florence and were invited to an art gallery opening where we knew no one, and felt we didn’t really belong there. This painting captures Alice feeling out of place, staring at her glass uncomfortably. Shortly after I finished this painting she had decided to leave Florence for good and this painting represents my memory of having her here.
